Required Degree: 

Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 5-7 years teaching experience.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

Experience: 

  • Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills

  • Teaching or administrative license

  • Related endorsements

  • Knowledge about and experience implementing Utah core curriculum standards in K-6

  • University degree in an art form or significant arts experience

  • Adult education, coaching and/or mentoring experience

  • Strategic planning

Duties/Expectations: 

Provide professional development and support services to principals, teachers, and teacher candidates participating in the BYU ARTS Partnership (BAP) Programs, including conferences, workshops, special events, coaching, mentoring, teaching, and the creation and formatting of teaching materials for the website and general distribution. Applicants serve on the BAP leadership team as a representative of the College of Fine Arts and Communications at BYU and are invited to apply after recommendation from their department.

BAP Programs work to build capacity in arts educators and K-6 grade-level teachers and 6-12 teachers to improve student learning and school culture through the arts by elevating arts education and implementing arts integration across the curriculum. Particular emphasis is placed on overseeing professional learning for arts educators in the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTS Arts), sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education in the BYU Region.
