Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and collaborative Special Education Supervisor for a full-time, in-person position in Minneapolis, MN for the 2026-2027 school year. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a professional who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs while overseeing special education programming, ensuring compliance, and providing instructional leadership to special education staff.

The Special Education Supervisor will work closely with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to promote student success, ensure high-quality special education services, and support the implementation of individualized educational programs across school settings.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations and requirements.
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and eligibility determinations.
Monitor student progress and program effectiveness through data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with school administrators, general education staff, families, and community partners.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to special education staff.
Support positive behavioral interventions and inclusive educational practices.
Assist with staffing, scheduling, and coordination of special education services.
Maintain accurate documentation and oversee compliance timelines.
Promote a safe, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.

Qualifications:

Must be fully licensed.

Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education or related field.
Special Education Supervisor, Director, or Administrative licensure/certification preferred.
Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
Experience supervising special education staff and programs preferred.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
